Getting Started
Getting Started
Section titled “Getting Started”Welcome to Sylva! This guide will help you understand the basic structure and concepts.
Project Structure
Section titled “Project Structure”Sylva organizes content in a hierarchical structure:
Project├── Module Groups (optional, for UI organization)│ └── Modules└── Modules └── Content ItemsProjects
Section titled “Projects”Projects are the highest level of organization. Each project contains modules that can be organized into module groups for easier navigation.
Modules
Section titled “Modules”Modules are containers for content. There are three main module types:
- Assessment - Create quizzes and assessments with grading
- Unit - Build educational courses and content
- Poll - Collect responses and feedback in real-time
Modules can be grouped together using module groups, which are just a way to organize modules in the user interface - they are not modules themselves.
Content Items
Section titled “Content Items”Within each module, you can add various content items. Content items fall into several categories:
- Static content items - Text, images, videos, tables, buttons, etc. that you create directly
- Answer items - Questions and input fields for participants to respond to
- Result items - Visualizations and displays that show data from responses
- Dynamic content items - Computed values and data bins that are calculated or aggregated from data
People
Section titled “People”Add participants and staff to your project:
- Add people – Invite people by typing or pasting into the table, or by importing from a file. You can send invitation emails or add people without sending; invitations can be scheduled.
Settings
Section titled “Settings”Two settings areas let you configure projects and your account:
- Project settings – Configure the current project: name, enrollment, sequence, appearance, and email notifications. Opened from the editor via Settings in the menu.
- Account settings – Manage your profile photo, authentication, and notifications. Opened by clicking your avatar or account in the top menu.
